What Video Formats Disney+ Offers

One of the reasons to subscribe to Disney+ is the video quality its massive library offers. At the time of writing, Disney+ offers Full HD, 4K Ultra HD, HDR10, Dolby Vision, and IMAX Enhanced.

Several elements can influence the video quality you can access, such as the title’s limitations, your device, and your internet speed.

If you want to access the high-quality content, you can check the 4K Ultra HD HDR Disney+ collections available on the home page. There are also two filters-Ultra HD and HDR-on the movies and series pages.

How to Adjust the Video Quality on Disney+

Adjusting the video quality on Disney+ isn’t complicated, but you won’t get as many options as you would on other platforms like YouTube. Generally speaking, Disney+ automatically detects your system’s capabilities and adjusts the video quality to the best option supported by your device.

However, if you want to impose some rules, you can do so from the app settings.

How to Adjust the Video Quality on Disney+ (Desktop)

Load Disney+ in your browser, and hover over the profile icon. Click on App Settings. Choose the desired option: Automatic (Streams in the highest quality available up to 4K UHD) Moderate (Uses less data and streams up to HD quality) Save Data (Uses the least amount of data, streams at SD quality) Click Save.

How to Adjust the Video Quality on Disney+ (Mobile)

Launch the Disney+ app and tap your profile in the bottom right corner. Go to App Settings. Under Video Playback, tap Wi-Fi Data Usage or Cellular Data Usage. Tap Automatic if you want to stream in HD, or Save Data if you want to stream in SD.

You can also toggle Stream over Wi-Fi only if you don’t want Disney+ to consume your data.

Changing Video Quality on Disney+ Is Quick and Easy

Setting up the video quality for Disney+ is super easy to do and, as you can see, doesn’t take a lot of time. If you do not have data limitations, it’s best to go for the Automatic option at all times to get the best experience.
