Luckily, EA makes it easy to change your Origin account/ EA ID name to something you feel more satisfied with and involves just a few simple steps. Here’s what you need to do to change your Origin or EA account name.
What Is an Origin Account?
An Origin/ EA account is an account used for EA games, the Origin website, and Origin Store. You can use it on the EA Desktop App and store to download games, expansion packs, content booster packs, and patches for various titles. Origin accounts used to be separate from EA accounts, but they have since merged and both terms work interchangeably.
Changing Your Origin Account Name
Changing your Origin account name is fairly simple, with a few steps required to be able to do so. You should note that you can only change your account name once every 72 hours, so if you’re unhappy with the name you’ve changed to, change it again a few days after.
On Origin. com, hover over your username in the bottom left corner and click EA Account and Billing. On the EA Customer Portal webpage click on the About Me tab on the left. Next to Basic Information click Edit. Verify your identity by inputting the code sent to your associated email address. Type in your new desired account name in the ID field. Click Save.
