How to Check iPad Warranty Online
If you’re unsure of the warranty status of your iPad, there’s a simple way to check for it online.
Locate the serial number of your iPad by opening the Settings app and selecting General > About. Write down or copy the number adjacent to Serial Number on the About screen. Launch your preferred browser. Enter https://checkcoverage. apple. com/ in the URL bar and press Go, return, or enter. Enter the serial number of your iPad in the field provided. Enter the code shown in the image in the appropriate field and select Continue. The status of your warranty is covered on the next screen. This information includes both the free AppleCare coverage and any AppleCare+ coverage you purchased for the iPad, indicating whether it is active or expired.
What Is AppleCare?
AppleCare is the manufacturer warranty service Apple provides for its devices, such as iPhone, iPad, Apple Watch, MacBook, HomePods, and more. The service comes at no extra cost for the user, but it offers only limited coverage for one year and covers only scenarios involving defective hardware or performance issues.
If a year doesn’t seem like enough time, Apple provides an extended warranty service known as AppleCare+ for a one-time fee. Depending on the type of damage your device has, there may still be an additional fee. For an iPad, if the issue is due to accidental damage such as water damage or a cracked screen, you have to pay a deductible of $49 plus applicable taxes.
