RELATED: Nearly-Impossible Games That Are Harder Than Bloodborne
Just like the original game, the bosses in Demon’s Souls Remakecan be forced into areas, trained, or even made completely unaware of their death. Take warning, these methods are not for anyone who wants to legitimately beat the game.
Updated on February 20th, 2022 by Hodey Johns: Maybe it’s the upcoming Elden Ring or maybe fans just need something to do between big releases, but Demon’s Souls is still a hot title with secrets to discover, loot to gather, and, of course, bosses to kill. The general misconception regarding the bosses in this series is that players will spend eons dying to them before killing that once. In a straight-up fight, sure, most players will die a thousand deaths during a playthrough. But more players are discovering that the franchise doesn’t need an easy mode when cheesing exists against every boss. This guide has been updated with images that show where to cheese from.
17 Vanguard
The Vanguard Demon reappears in the Shrine of Storms. For players who fail to take out the demon at the beginning of the game, this boss can easily be taken out with a bow. Right behind where the boss stands is a hole in the ground. Players can either run past the demon and dive into the hole or take the underground pathway that is accessible from the castle wall where the skeletons fire arrows.
Once players are in that hole, the Vanguard Demon won’t try to attack them. Players can then take out a bow or use their trusty catalyst to hit the boss from afar without the fear of getting hit by the massive blade it holds. Every class has its strengths and weaknesses, but even predominantly melee characters should consider this tactic.
16 Phalanx
Phalanx is the first boss that players face once they complete the intro of the game. This boss is extremely weak to fire and easy to kill. As players progress through the first area of the game, they will come across multiple firebombs. Hang onto these.
Even better, players can buy more from the Dregling merchant. Run into the boss fight, take up a position behind a pillar and throw out firebombs until the boss is dead. If a player runs out, simply run out and smack the boss with some Pine Resin on a weapon. It’s good advice for the Royal class since newer players tend to start with that one.
15 Armor Spider
The Armor Spider is easy to defeat with magic. Players who chose a magic class at the beginning of the game will have an easy time, but bows work well too. When a player enters the boss room they will need to run down a tunnel while the Armor Spider shoots fireballs at them. At the end of this tunnel, there is a pillar on the left side. Hide behind this pillar and it will protect a player from all of the Armor Spider’s attacks.
Simply use magic or a bow and attack from a distance while the boss tries to throw fireballs that will never connect. Compared to other launch titles and their bosses, it doesn’t get easier than this.
14 Tower Knight
The Tower Knight is a little bit harder to take down because of the archers. Deal with this nuisance first. Run up and kill all of the archers. After they are taken care of, run back to the stairs, and wait at the top. Take out a box and go to town.

Aim for the head and the Tower Knight will be taken down pretty quickly.
Late game killing is even easier with weapons like the Lava Bow. Magic-users can take advantage of Poison Cloud and kill the Tower Knight Slowly. This method requires a little bit of dodging though.
13 Flamelurker
As soon as players enter the Flamelurker’s boss arena, make a left. On the next side of the arena is a group of ribcage bones sticking out of the ground. Run behind those and bait Flamelurker to come and join. Once the boss is behind the bones, jump through them and it will be stuck.
Players can then go to town on the boss with magic or arrows. There is another set of bones near the staircase on the far side of the arena that players can lure the boss to as well. Memories of Demon’s Souls will transfer to other games, hopefully this strategy continues to work.
12 Leechmonger
Leechmonger is an easy boss, but cheesing it makes it easier. Players can easily run along the path until they see a bridge above them. This is a safe area. While standing in this area, Leechmonger will constantly try to attack the player.
Globs of leeches will hit the area above the player, but they will be protected from the bridge above them. This will allow the player to take out a bow or use magic to kill the boss without it regenerating health. Advanced players can run in with the Firestorm spell which will usually one-shot the boss. Cheese like this is how some players can beat the whole franchise without once getting hit.
11 Dirty Colossus
Like the boss before it, the Dirty Colossus is extremely weak to fire. As soon as players enter the boss arena, look for a nearby torch. Take up a position behind this torch and keep hammering away at the boss with a bow or fire magic. Hiding behind a torch will prevent the boss’s ranged attacked from being able to hit.
If an attack does happen to connect, players can simply rub their body against the torch and it will make the health degeneration stop. If the boss happens to walk up to a player using this strategy, simply run behind another torch and keep firing away. Those who aren’t bothered by this level of cheese should try out the Cat Ring glitch.
10 Fool’s Idol
The Fool’s Idol is one of the more annoying bosses in the game because of the floor traps and clones. Luckily, there is an area where players can stand to be safe from the onslaught of magic attacks. When a player enters the boss arena, break the table and chair by the first column on the right.

From here, players cannot be hit except when they poke out to shoot arrows or magic.
Be careful when poking out from behind the column and players won’t get hit. If the game ever gets ported to PC, and it should, this cheese should work on that platform as well.
9 Maneater
Maneater is weak to magic attacks (not fire). When entering the boss arena, enter on the left side of the fog wall. Stand still with the Thief Ring on and shoot the boss with a bow or magic. Once the second Maneater appears, players will need to move forward. Take up position around the giant brazier.
Cast Poison Cloud and wait. The boss will grab its head and fall down. Take a few swings at the tail and then cast Poison cloud again and wait. Keep repeating this and the boss will be dead quick. When it comes to the best farming areas, this boss should be regularly visited for easy loot.
8 Adjudicator
The Adjudicator boss is a piece of cake on a normal basis, but ranged attacks make it even easier. This nasty boss has one weakness, the head. Players who know the game know that this boss needs to be knocked down. After being knocked down, the player can attack the boss’s head.
To make the boss even easier, go into the boss room but don’t go down to the boss’s level. Stay on the top platform and look over the end of the hole in the middle. Players can then target the head and either attack with a bow or magic. Occasionally jump back when the boss’s tongue flails.
7 Old Hero
In case nobody noticed, the Old Hero boss is blind. This helps out the player tremendously when it comes to cheesing it. Near the entrance of the boss arena is an alter. Players should come in with the Thief Ring equipped and stand behind the altar. This isn’t an area that is guaranteed to be safe, but it is safer than most areas. When standing next to the alter, players will realize that the boss will walk up and down the arena occasionally swiping at nothing.
When the boss turns around, put an arrow into him, or cast a spell. This will alert the boss so keep hidden and wait for him to go back on his stroll. This method takes a while to defeat the boss, but it is far easier than running up and melee-ing him.
6 Penetrator
For this boss, be sure to rescue Biorr. Biorr can be found near the Tower Knight Archstone. Players will need to find a few Fat Officials. One of these Officials has the Iron Ring of Keys. Once players have this item, they can travel to the area just before the Tower Knight boss arena and open a door that leads down to Biorr’s cell.

Open his cell and he will join the player for the Penetrator boss fight.
If a player is in their first run of the game Biorr will be able to take down the Penetrator almost by himself. Stand back, cast some spells or fire some arrows and the boss will be taken down easily.
5 Dragon God
The Dragon God boss fight is rather straightforward. Go into the fight and wait until the boss has their head turned. Run and hide behind a column on the right side. From here, use spells to destroy the debris. Wait for the head to turn and run to another column.
Keep repeating and reach the spear launchers. Launch the first spear, follow the same strategy as before and fire the second spear. Once both spears have been fired, the boss will be close to death, and players can run down and smack the boss to death. The boss will raise and lower their head to deal damage. To avoid getting hurt, stand a little ways back and fire arrows or use magic.
4 Maiden Astraea
Maiden Astraea is guarded by two things, Garl Vinland and Plague. Getting close to her will unleash the Plague on the player. This will quickly drain a player’s health unless they are prepared. To top it off, getting close to Maiden Astraea will cause Garl Vinland to come down on the player will his massive hammer. Garl is pretty easy to parry, but for players who aren’t good at parrying, stay at the boss arena entrance. Take out the enemies near the entrance and then head to the right.
Once the boss is in view, shoot some arrows until she is dead. Garl won’t come running and it will be an easy kill.
3 Old Monk
The Old Monk is an online battle. Once players get close enough to the boss door a cutscene will initiate. It will show the boss using its robes to wrap up a player summon. This can be annoying because the player that is summoned could be very powerful.
The best way to handle this boss is to play offline. Playing offline will have the player fight the real boss. The real boss is frail and simple to beat with a melee strategy. Players can also use magic to keep a distance and make for an easy kill.
2 Storm King
The Storm King boss fight is probably the easiest fight in the game. The fight consists of the player taking on a massive manta ray-looking boss that flies around the map causing a massive storm. From the entrance, players should run down to the bottom of the map where multiple spikes are. There they will find an item.
When they pick it up, they will be given the Storm Ruler weapon. Equip it quickly and start using it. During this boss fight, the weapon will create massive air attacks that can damage the boss. This will take the boss down easily without the need for much maneuvering.
1 Old King Allant
The Old King is supposed to be the toughest boss in the game, that’s why it’s a shame that he can be killed so easily. People who have played the original game will remember that he could easily be killed with a bow from afar. The new method requires some magic, the Thief Ring, and patience. Equip the Thief Ring, walk into the boss room, and stand there. King Allant will walk forward and turn around when he reaches the top of the stairs. He will then stand there with his back turned.
Walk up behind him, don’t run. Running will alert him. Walk up to the top of the stairs and cast Poison Cloud. King Allant will just stand there and take it. It takes a few castings to kill him and a good amount of time, but it’s easy.
Demon’s Souls Remake was released on November 12th, 2020, and is available on PlayStation 5.
