We’ll show you how to clear the history on the Oculus Quest 2 browser and how to prevent it from saving history in the future.

How to Clear the Oculus Quest Browser History

First, you’ll need to open the Oculus browser to access its settings, including the one to erase the history. Press the Oculus button to bring up the quick menu, then select the grid icon on the right to show your installed apps. Find Browser in the list and select it to launch the app.

Once the browser is open, select the three-dot Menu button at the top-right corner. In the resulting dropdown menu, choose the Clear Browsing Data entry.

This will bring up a menu similar to Google Chrome’s history-clearing option. Check the box for each type of browsing data you want to erase. Browser History is the essential one to clear out the History panel, but if you want to obliterate all traces of past browsing, also check Cookies and site data, and Cached images and files.

The other options, like Saved passwords and Autofill form data, are up to you. They aren’t necessarily tied to your browsing history, but you might wish to remove any other data the browser stored.

Near the top of the menu, you can set the period you want to clear history from. Choose Beginning of time to erase it all, or choose a more recent period if you want.

Once you select Clear Data, your Quest 2 browser history will be deleted. If you want to be sure nothing remains, go back to the three-dot Menu and check the History panel.

How to Prevent Your Quest 2 From Saving Browsing Data

Like all other modern browsers, the Oculus Quest 2 browser includes a private browsing mode. A private session will not save any browser history; once you’ve closed all private tabs, all cookies, cached data, and history entries will be destroyed.

Private browsing is useful, but remember that you’re not invisible while using it. Websites, your ISP, and pages you log into can still track you.

Clear Your Quest 2 Browsing Data for Privacy

You might want to clear your Oculus Quest browser history so other people who use the headset can’t look at it. Perhaps you don’t want to leave more data on the device for Facebook to harvest, or maybe you like a tidy history list. Whatever the reason, it’s easy to clear the browser history on an Oculus Quest 2.
