Link Alexa With Ring
The days are over when you cannot answer the door because your hands are full. You can view your Ring Doorbell video on your smartphone, but you can also have Alexa display it on your Echo Show.
If you haven’t set up your Alexa or Ring devices, download and install the Alexa app for iOS or Android. Also, download and install the Ring app for iOS or Android. Make sure Bluetooth is enabled on your phone, and that all devices are connected to your home Wi-Fi network.
To link Ring to Alexa through an Echo Show:
On your Alexa app home screen, tap More in the lower left corner. Tap Skills & Games. Tap the magnifying glass icon in the upper right corner to do a search. In the Search field, type in Ring. Tap Ring in the results. Tap Enable to Use. You’ll see Enabling Skill. If you need only the basic ability to view the Ring video feed on an Alexa-linked device, you can tap Enable Skill.
Discover Your Devices
Once you’ve linked the Ring skill or the skill and the accounts to Alexa, your app will need to discover your Ring devices:
At the Discover Devices screen, tap Discover Devices. Wait for about 45 seconds while the Alexa app searching for Ring devices. If Alexa has trouble finding your Ring device, you’ll see troubleshooting links that you can tap for help.
Test It Out by Saying “Alexa, Show the Front Door”
To make sure Alexa linked the Ring skill, say, “Alexa, show the front door.” You should see your Ring Doorbell video feed on your Echo Show. You’ll have a microphone icon that you can tap to communicate with somebody at the door.
Link Alexa and Ring for Extra Convenience
With Alexa and Ring linking, seeing who is at your front door is only a voice command away. You can even answer the door without picking up your smartphone to see the Ring video feed.
